2012!

Hello friends!!! Well 2012 is already here and I have just come home from being in Europe for the holidays! I am so excited about all the cool things we have going on this year.  Thanks to everyone who came to our first show of the year at the Brisbane jazz club which was super ! Tom and I met heaps of lovely people and its always nice playing to a sold out show! I have some really exciting news to announce: I am going on tour this April with Australian guitar hero Tommy Emmanuel to Eastern Europe and Russia!! aaah! My brother Tom is accompanying me and we will be his special guest for some great shows (All the details are on the tour page of this site!) If you happen to be in Moscow please drop by!!

I realised that I haven't updated much recently so I wanted to let you know what I have been up to over the past couple of months! As usual, life as a musician is pretty busy and at the beginning of October I was part of a Sydney festival called the "Jazz a Vienne" which is the sister festival of the original in Vienne in France. I performed with my trio consisting of Tom Hamilton and Darryl Neve all over Sydney from the NSW Art Gallery, the Clarendon Guest House, and the Basement to name a few of the places. It was a very special festival because all the shows were done alongside other artists Tricia Evy from France and Charito from Japan, and we collaborated with a music school of some very talented young people. We really had a ball and got to know the other singers and musicians so well! Recently, I have been writing lots of new material and planning another album! And last week-end Tom and I did 2 sold-out shows in Victoria one at the wonderful Paris Cat Jazz Club in Melbourne and another at The Wrong Crowd in Geelong which was a fabulous night! Coming up, Tom and I will be be accompanying the amazing Tuck and Patti on their Australian tour which will take us over 3 states! We are really looking forward to this tour! Even as a toddler, Emma Hamilton was rarely photographed without a musical instrument in her hand. Born into a musical family (her father is a professional folk musician), Emma’s course in life was never really in doubt. ‘I had the benefit of tremendous encouragement from my family and music was all around me during my childhood,’ says the 25-year-old, whose new album on the ABC Jazz label, La Musique, features an intoxicating blend of jazz-pop standards and hook-laden originals.
